In these pages, you will find educational information
on Common Drugs of Abuse.
Treatment for alcohol and drug abuse is changing. California eliminated the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP) and, on July 1, 2013, transferred those responsibilities to The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). We encourage you to follow these changes as they will greatly affect addiction treatment in California. Information on the new "Substance Abuse Use Disorder Services Division" can be found at www.dhcs.ca.gov.
The Justin Foundation represents the alcoholics and addicts (and their families) who use alcohol and drug abuse treatment services -- believing that every treatment facility should be a safe and effective place to heal from addiction. If you have stories of mistreatment or abuse while residing at a treatment facility that need to be heard, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
To help California addiction counselors become more knowledgeable, The Justin Foundation offers tuition assistance. Scholarship awards have been temporarily suspended due to waning donor contributions during the current recession. We hope to reinstate this assistance as soon as possible.
